OUR HISTORY
Bellingham Pawn was established in 1989 by Mark Owens. Originally located off of West Maplewood Street, Bellingham Pawn moved north on the same street to its current location, located near the airport off the Bakerview Street freeway exit.
Over the years Bellingham Pawn has steadily grown into the longest running pawn broker business in Bellingham and the greater Whatcom County area. The pawn business runs deep with the owner's family history. Mark opened Bellingham Pawnshop after learning about the business from working in his uncle's pawn shop, JC's Pawn Shop in Mt Vernon.
Customers appreciate considerate, prompt and exceptional customer service, so Mark focused on just that - providing excellent customer service to each Bellingham Pawn customer. The helpful, thoughtful and discreet customer service combined with high-loan-value has been the cornerstone of Bellingham Pawn's success throughout our 30+ years in business.
To this day, Bellingham Pawn remains a family-owned-and-operated business. The staff has collectively put in over 100 years of service and is considered family by any standard. The team includes Ed, who has worked the counter for the last 30 years, Colby with 26 years of service under his belt, and Marci (Colby's sister) who started in 1999 -- over 2 decades ago! Cami and Robert joined us in 2009, adding to our 97+ years of dedicated customer service.
